Venafi Encryption Director™ manages the lifecycle of keys and certificates in some of the most important applications and systems in the world’s largest organisations. Director automates the provisioning, discovery, monitoring, validation and management of encryption keys and digital certificates. Director's third-generation architecture supports heterogeneous certificate authorities (CAs), multiple platform deployments and various encryption types (symmetric, asymmetric and SSH), and has proven scalability within the world's largest enterprises.

Discovery

The first step in managing encryption is to determine where keys and certificates are deployed within their environment, and assess where imminent risks exist.

Montoring & Validation

Organisations can continuously monitor key and certificate assets, for improved inventory and risk mitigation. Flexible notification and escalation functionality allows administrators to send dynamically generated messages and automatically determine owners and escalation paths, while validating that keys and certificates are installed and properly configured.

Enrolment

Director interfaces directly with certificate authorities to initiate and auto-enrol new or to-be-renewed certificate and key generation requests according to organization defined workflow and approved policies.

Provisioning

Director provides fully automated lifecycle management to streamline key and certificate operations on a comprehensive set of systems and applications, producing consistent and repeatable processes that improve security, operational and compliance risk postures.

There are three products available on the Venafi Encryption Director (Director) platform: Director Certificate Manager™, Director Symmetric Key Manager™ and Director SSH Key Manager™.
